so after our chicken feast last night (which was wonderful, btw),
sleepyworm went to the radio, and i went to the movies with xina to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. it was really fun--i could see a few areas that could've been better, but on the whole really good. if you're looking for another cross-cultural wedding movie, go see Monsoon Wedding--it comes out on video at the end of this month, and it is hella good.
today i worked at blandwood again and gave i think three tours. i also learned some new blandwood facts, which is always nice. sadly, i haven't gotten much of anything useful done this weekend, other than the dishes. i have this big to-do list and haven't been able to cross anything off of it. sigh. what i really need to do is get my arse in gear and write some damned poems. my summer supply is almost out and i'm going to need some fresh ones for workshop and some fresh revisions for conferencing with fred. who liked my boston market poem, btw, although he's never been to a boston market and had trouble visualizing the set up of the store. like, he didn't realize rotisserie chickens were involved. i don't know how vital that is to a poem that's primarily about sex, though. have to think about it.
in other news: i successfully made gooey eggs tonight, and they were perfect!! (gooey eggs=over easy, for the uneducated among y'all). usually one of them turns out decent, but i almost always pop one yolk, and sometimes under- or overcook them too. but today, i had two perfect gooey eggs, and the toaster decided to work today, so i also had toast. woo.
all in all, i liked this weekend. it completely met with my approval.
