so i was so sure i was going to get some work done this morning. i was going to do a few journals for my feminist theory class (we have to do a journal entry per week, and i have some notes but so far have not written any actual entries and therefore am behind by three entries). i suppose i could still do them, but i've been here at work since 11 and now it's 12:40, so i've wasted most of my three hours. i did do some actual office work--showed jay how to use banner (which [livejournal.com profile] sleepyworm remembers fondly, i'm sure), but that took all of ten minutes, besides the fifteen minutes of running around the office trying to find an available computer that will actually run banner. our computer in the Hobbit Hole refuses to run it when either jay or i are logged in, but now it won't let nancy or anne or barbara log in. silly thing.

outline of my monday:
11:00-2:00: work at CASA.
2:30-??: meet with allison and chase to plan our presentation for wednesday's fem. theory class.
5:00-8:00: work at teh HLC.
8:00-8:15: wait for other employees to leave, tell thad in private that i'm quitting teh HLC.
as-yet-unspecified time: go to [livejournal.com profile] sleepyworm's house, eat dinner.

hopefully the group meeting for my presentation won't be long. it only has to be a ten-minute presentation anyway, and we've already got all the information. if it's a short meeting (which i'm hoping for but not counting on) then between the meeting and work at HLC i can stop at the bank and make a deposit, stop at blockbuster and drop off the Teh Ymmum Returns dvd, and maybe even stop at home to take out the recycling. it would be nice if i could do all that stuff, because if the group meeting runs long i'll have to do all of it after work, which means i'll get to jorn's much later than i'd like to. of course i'll have to go to the bank before work if i'm going at all today, since banks close at 5, but it would be so nice not to have to stop by my apartment after work before going to jorn's.

hey jorn and dannbrown--how do you do the lj user tag so that it shows the person's name instead of the journal name? i bet you won't tell.

i would like to watch some pokemon tonight. i would also like to write tonight. and eat. should be busy.

well, it's kind of long, there's no El Jay specific tag that will do it, but when you use that option in the Sema client, it does put this big block of HTML on the screen... it looks like this:

<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=painkiller"><img height="17" border="0" src="http://www.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif" alt="painkiller" align="absmiddle" width="17"></a><b><a href="http://www.livejournal.com/users/painkiller/">Wizzrobe Killa</a></b>

And that should make it look like this, with it linking to my journal.
painkillerWizzrobe Killa

I'm sure you can figure out what to change to make it say something else or link to a different journal.

how did you get the html code itself to actually show up instead of being turned into the link?

<THAT> is an ancient Chinese secret which I cannot share with anyone.

No, it's less like <THIS> and more like <THAT>.

If you know what I mean....
