::edit:: I'm wondering: in the first book, Betsy drank once from the cop and a few days later he was slavering after her and dying and stuff. So in the second book, how is she able to get away with sneaking a drink from random criminals and homeless guys without getting them addicted to her (or getting them off, for that matter)? I mean, I'm guessing Sink Lair or Tina taught her a trick about it or something, but we never get to hear about that?

Huh? I went back to the first book, and it was the suck 'em and duck 'em that screwed up Nick. Does the second book say anything about her altering her victims memories?

No, not at all. She just mentions how, for example, after taking a bullet wound, she leaps off a building, grabs a homeless guy for a snack, and leaves him with a happy grin on his face sitting next to his dumpster. So how do we know he's not going to end up sick like Nick did?
