My to do list from last week:

Things I'd like to do this weekend:
- put file cabinet together, unpack files
- put computer together
- make mp3 cd for Chris and mail!!
- clean the kitchen, hang mug hooks (and mugs on them), clean out drawers in pantry and fill with towels, unpack the rest of the kitchen stuff
- clean the bathroom!
- do laundry (at least the darks)
- put down contact paper on bedroom closet floor and shelf
- unpack clothes into closet
- move trunk of winter clothes to hall closet
- pot that plant and water it

Things I'd like Jorn to do this weekend:
- get a new dresser, bring it home, sand it down, put it in the bedroom, and put clothes in it

So we did pretty well this weekend. All the activities involving drawers took a lot longer than we thought they would, whether the drawers in question were being sanded down, scrubbed off, or de-skankified (like those pantry drawers, which were Teh Ick). Also I would have hung the mug hooks but we determined that the mug hooks will not work in the place I bought them for. We're going to have to acquire another mug-holding apparatus, apparently. Oh, and I did the dishes. And worked really hard on saving the world from the monsters made by the sands of time.

Still a lot to do, though. Tonight I'm going to make a Target run and hopefully pick up some stuff that will make the rest of it easier (like, for example, a mop and bucket do wonders when cleaning one's kitchen). Tonight will hopefully also involve clothes unpacking and taking out of the trash and recycling. And moving the car to the other side of the street.

This weekend was pretty good, I thought. Friday night I went over to Ert's house and ate really, really yummy pizza. Got caught up on the new Battlestar Galactica (just for fun, Ert, here's my post about the miniseries from when I first saw it). I don't think I was missing too much by not getting into this series, honestly. I have enough stuff to fangirl over. Also, the real original Apollo got fat. Dude. He's still cool, though. It was fun hanging out with other people to watch it, too: I don't get to see Ert very often, and his friends were cool (I think Sanjay is possibly The Nicest Man Ever, and his offspring is a candidate for the Cutest Child Award).

Saturday we worked on house stuff during the day, and then I went with Kris to the annual Lefton party. It was a lot more fun than I expected it to be (or, rather, more fun than I expected to have). A lot of the fun was due to awesome make-outs, but I'm not complaining. The fire-spinning was pretty amazing, too. Sunday we lazed around, and then Jorn worked really hard on sanding his new dresser and then cleaning up after the sanding. I fought sand monsters, as previously mentioned, but they were of the GameCube variety and not the ones actually being swept up on the porch. Got some other stuff done too. Then Jorn and I went out to see March Of The Penguins, which we both *loved*, and then split a quesadilla at the Border Cafe afterwards. Have I ever mentioned my theory on why we're so good together? He loves sour cream (which I hate) and I love guacamole (which he hates), so therefore we can split a quesadilla in perfect harmony. While teasing each other nonstop about the disgusting crap we're smearing on our food, of course. We watched South Park when we got home and it was funny. Teh End.

I'm glad you had fun. It's all about the fact that all of our friends show up and have fun. And the skeevy guys are actually less skeevy than normal when surrounded in the confines of the Lefton property. I think it has magical powers :-)

Now I'm bummed I showed up so late. Being way out in the 'burbs from my perspective, I really expected it to be much more sparsely attended.

It was great you made it over! I'm fond of that pizza, too, although sometimes it's a little on the greasy side for my tastes.

What about all the despair you've been missing all year? :)

It is too bad that you blipped in for such a poor episode (in my estimation), but as you've noted it's a very different show than the original and perhaps not to your tastes.

Well, despair and angst appear to be right up my alley--I'm a big Whedon fan, after all! But the current BG is a very different show than the original was, and I think a lot of the things I loved about the original are absent in the current. If I had more time for such things, I would watch it, but I definitely have other priorities right now.
