I watched the first hour of the Top Model season premiere, then taped the second hour and watched Lost, then watched the rest of Top Model.
Lost first. My thoughts on the first few minutes: Hey, who's this guy? Guess we're starting with a flashback. Who's old enough to have been a grown man in the '70's? Wow, what's he injecting there? What's that noise--HOLY CRAP IT'S NOT A FLASHBACK HE'S IN THE HATCH!!1!! I think most of you were with me on that. Then I was thinking that we weren't actually going to see anyone make it to the bottom of the hatch, like it's a bottomless pit or something: there goes Kate--whoops! John must've gone after her, now there goes Jack... I was glad we actually followed Jack down the hatch. And what's the deal with Desmond? I was figuring that to be so stuck in the '70's the dude in the hatch probably had been down there for 30 years, but Desmond was in the US chatting with Jack at most ten years ago. I automatically assumed the injection was steroids but maybe it was some sort of medicine for whatever he was quarantined for? Well, Desmond can't have been the one to build the hatch and the rooms under it, that's for sure. Unless he built it, flew to America to chat with Jack, and then flew back. And what's going on with the poor guys on the exploded raft? And how long is that one damn night going to last? Yargh!
Top Model has potential to be better than last season, at least. So far it's been a steady downhill drop in quality as each season progresses, but this one looks like it could be pretty good. I actually feel a connection to some of the girls who are still left, and I'm glad they didn't eliminate poor Sarah just because she fell on the runway, and I'm glad they kept the lesbian. I probably would've kept Ashley longer if I were a judge, but then I probably wouldn'tve noticed her lack of quality because she wasn't obviously *bad*, you know? I liked the superhero shoot, that was pretty cool. Rawr! And now that I think about it I was kind of glad Ashley went so early because she was kind of two-faced towards Kim, they were all buddy-buddy and then Ashley didn't help her with the makeup and she was mean after Kim's photo shoot. Not like she's required to be all niceynice, it is a competition, but still. The girl's supposedly your friend. But yeah, there's not any particular girl that I hate with a passion--yet--so that's positive.
