This is my favorite one of the series. Ayla is so strong and independent, and she and Jondalar are just discovering their love. And now I want to go on and read The Mammoth Hunters again, but I don't really have time to do that and I don't feel like buying it anyway. It can wait.

::edit:: I only have 18 more books to read to make my goal of 100 books for the year. That means only six books each in October, November, and December. I've been reading a lot more than that lately, but it'll be good to have the extra breathing room while I'm taking classes and being busy. It's definitely a reachable goal, I'm excited.

If you want to reread Mammoth Hunters, I'd be happy to loan it to you.

That would rock, but there's no rush on that at all. I have to give Clan back to you, too.

I've never read any of that series, but now you're making me want to give it a try.

The first two are the best, and they taper off after that. Ayla is an interesting enough character that I want to keep reading them, but the most recent book was nowhere near as good as the earlier ones. I think you'd probably like them if you read them, though.
