sorry for the bummed out previous post, folks. things got better after that:
so saturday morning ended up actually being my last day at teh HLC. i saw that i wasn't really on the schedule after all, and when i talked to thad today he said he didn't need me tonight. that made me glad. i now officially only have two jobs. after work on saturday, i heard a review of Sweet Home Alabama on the radio and that's the movie the SAI girls were going to see, and i knew i couldn't go with them, so i was a little sad. but when i got home, there was a message from the girls on my machine letting me know that they were going to the 1:30 show! so i hustled back out the door to meet them at the theater, and i'm glad i did because it was such a cute movie. jorn would've hated it, if that tells you anything. but i really really liked it. saturday night i chatted with elan for a while, and got a bit of work done--not as much as i wanted to, though. of course. but i also reread The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery, one of my very favorite books. it's super cheesy (she's also the woman who wrote Anne of Green Gables), but i have always loved this book, and i thought i had lost it, so i was so so happy when i found it again.
on sunday i woke up around 11 (i had been up late reading the night before) and read the newspaper and clipped my coupons, then i picked up jorn and he dropped me off at blandwood at 1:45 for work. so i got some reading done there, and gave two and a half tours (one family came while i was mid-tour with another family, so they joined in midway and caught the "beginning" at the end instead). sunday night we went bowling! it was really fun. we went with xina, jt, and elan, and we bowled two games. i got a 127 and a *173*. it was phreakin' awesome. i kicked ass.
and today was a good day. i'm not going to see jorn until wednesday, but i have a lot of things to get done, so it'll be good for me. elan is making pesto in the kitchen, and i'm not at teh HLC. what more do i really need?
in other news, i talked to miles today--we will be expeditioning up to selinsgrove the weekend of oct 18-19-20 for a visit, and miles & dylan and possibly other bostonians will be expeditioning down. i'm all psyched up.
