in other news, yesterday i found a roach. a roach IN MY BEDROOM. now, i have lived in the same apartment for over a year now, and except for the occasional spidery thing and those odd flying things i found in the kitchen cabinet (who have since gone away after i threw out that bread), i have never had a bug ish. and then i go into my room today and find this big ass ROACH laying on its nasty back in the middle of the floor. the only reason i could deal with it was because it was pretty much incapacitated and couldn't flip itself over. so i yelled, hey elan! come here a sec! and i was like what IS that? and she said it's a roach! and we both looked at it wiggling around and we were all grossed out and neither of us wanted to take action, so finally she said, if i hit it with this boot, will you clean it up? i said, ok, and she fucking WHACKED that little fucker, and it totally seemed like it had to be flat under the boot (it was one of my blue docs) and then when i lifted the boot to scoop up The Remains on a piece of paper, it was still wiggling a little. elan thought this was just its nerves or something, she was sure it was dead, so i said, go open the kitchen door and we'll dump it outside, and she went, and then while trying to pick it up i accidentally flipped it over and it started all scurrying around! i screamed! and then hit it really hard with the boot, which i was fortunately still holding, and i broke its nasty little back and scooped it up and took it out to the kitchen, and elan had the door open and i went out on the porch and dumped it down into the front lawn. (which, if you don't know, is three stories down from my kitchen porch, so it's not like i was putting in *my* front lawn or anything.)
dear god, i hope there's not more. there have not been many things in this world that made me so scared and creeped out, ever. i could not stand it if there were more.
last night jorn and elan and i watched But I'm a Cheerleader, and i loved it. and then elan went to bed (she was all tired from grading papers all day) and jorn and i watched Dogma. which i can't believe i've never seen before, because i fucking loved it. it was awesome.
and now jorn and i are going to teh mall. i will do my best not be ShopperGirl or anything, because i know he's a little nervous about teh mall, and he hates shopping, so i will try to be good. but there is shopping that i must do, and he's never been to our greensboro mall before. it should be fun.
