To pack for this weekend (duffel bag):
- pretty dress, strapless bra, white sandals
- pretty skirt, black top, black sandals, black sweater-something, black bra? (or possibly: the awesome stripey pants, brown tank?)
- the hot jeans, comfy sandals, something appropriate to wear dancing, two cute t-shirts
- something to sleep in, three pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks just in case, bathing suit??
- cell phone charger, ipod charger, battery charger, camera, batteries

To pack for this weekend (backpack):
- homework: any essays for workshop, assignment for editing class, Orwell essay
- books - Lawrence, TotS v.4, something else?
- wedding card
- Bear
- toiletries in virgin atlantic bag (see below)
- lotion?
- sandals if they don't fit in the duffel
- leave some room for sweatshirt

To pack for this weekend (virgin atlantic bag):
travel shampoo/cond., soap, toothbrush, travel toothpaste, lens disinfectant, contact cleaning cup, hair goop (curling or de-frizzing? or both depending on room), razor, deodorant, face cream, face wash, pills (tylenol, vitamins, allergy), contact case with lenses in it, makeup? just in case

To wear on Friday:
- the favorite jeans, t-shirt, favorite bra, green sneakers, grey sweatshirt, corduroy jacket, glasses

To do before Friday:
- go to CVS for travel-sized items, contact cleaning solution, allergy eye drops
- PRINT DIRECTIONS!!!!! PACK DIRECTIONS!!!
- shave everything
- try on clothes to make sure they go with each other

The weather looks like it's going to be beautiful this weekend. I'm so glad. Wedding will be at the Maitland Art Center--if you click on their weddings/events link, you can see some pictures of past weddings there. The gardens and all look really pretty.

The Alli and The Amy, can you think of anything I should have that isn't on these lists? I can borrow a towel, right?

I am so excited to be going somewhere where warmness will not be an issue!

Hee! Well, things have gotten (even more) complicated for me since the last time we talked about D*C. I need to get some numbers from people and then sit down and do actual math, but hopefully I should be able to get that done soon. Eek.

I understand. I am hesitant to commit to trips and such, even when I expect to be at the same job and have a reasonable idea what I'll be making, what my expenses will be, etc. I can't imagine trying to make a plan with so much in the midst of changing!!

orlando? i wouldn't worry about the sweater or sweatshirt. i bet you never wear them. especially compared to boston, it'll probably be "hotter than two rats fuckin' in a wool sock," to use a colloquialism. i don't think i've worn long sleeves in two months, and i'm farther north than orlando.

Yeah, but I am always, always cold. The sweatshirt I'll definitely need for the plane, at least, and the reason I thought to bring a sweater or something to go with the nicer outfits is because if we're in a restaurant and the AC is on, I will probably be too cold with my arms hanging out. For outside I'm sure I'll be fine--it's going to be in the 80s all weekend--but AC tends to make me shiver. Like, for example, in my office right now. :)

FYI—Friday night (re: dancing), I'm planning on just wearing jeans, one of my cute stripey polo shirts, and my Chucks. This place is pretty low-key in dress rules, so the outfit you're planning to wear on Friday could double as dancing clothes, if you want. It's up to you, but that might free up some room in your bags.

And yes, you can borrow a towel. You could even have your own set of washing implements! :)

Alli and I rarely go swimming (actually I don't think we ever have while we've lived together), so unless you think you'll go swimming on Sunday, you don't have to bring that. Of course, if you want to go to the pool, that can be arranged. :)

I have an iPod charger you can use, so you could leave that behind. Also, I have tons of lotion of various scents/uses, so you could possibly leave that behind, too.

Regarding your hair sitch, remember that Florida is very humid. I don't know how that affects your hair, but that's the key.

Do they have smoking in clubs down there? I was figuring on bringing the extra pair of jeans in case one pair ended up smelling like an ashtray. (Also I have issues regarding which jeans go with which shoes, and the really cute jeans can't go with sneakers because they're just a little too short, while the favorite jeans go with anything but can only be worn so many times before they're too dirty to be worn again.)

Yeah, hair's an issue with humidity. If I blow-dry it straight, I'll need anti-frizz stuff at the least to make it stay that way. Typically what I do with my hair when it's humid is just to throw curling goop in it and let it be free, so I may end up just doing that. Although I like my hair much less when it's curly.

Pool isn't necessary, just wondering if I should have a suit just in case. I'll be on a beach in Bermuda in July, so I can wait for sunbathing time till then. :)

There is smoking in this club, yes. Some of them don't allow smoking, some of them do, this just happens to be one of the latter. Of course if you need to wash anything, you're welcome to our washer and dryer and laundry supplies. Hope this helps decide what to pack! I know I'll be having "fun" doing this in a couple of months. :)

I am going to Orlando for someone's wedding. When people celebrate a major event--like, for example, a birthday or anniversary or in this case a wedding--it's customary to give them a congratulatory card. In this case, I shall stick money in the card in lieu of transporting an actual gift.
