I need to start reading something worthwhile instead of all the easy paperbacks I've been reading lately. Looking at my 2006 book list, I'm really kind of disappointed in myself. On the other hand, the past few months have been pretty rough. And Mrs. Pollifax is always comforting. In this one she went to Thailand, supposedly just for a normal peaceful vacation, but poor Mrs. P can never have a normal peaceful vacation. In this one she was still getting over the effects of being brutally tortured in the previous book (which I did NOT approve of). Usually I love reading her adventures, but in this one I was kind of hoping she could just go and have a vacation for once. But Mrs. Pollifax came through in the end, as she always does.
