Yesterday I did most of a full yoga routine. Today I did a full routine again. No complaints from my muscles. My body *likes* doing yoga every day. I'm not sure why I'm surprised.
Today: 15 bethak squats (feels like I could do dozens more), 7 dand pushups (can't go any farther than this yet)
I went and looked up the official names of the northern indian wrestler squats and pushups. I got them from Gene, my old teacher, when I went to one of his special workshops. I think I'm getting to the point where I could actually do the stuff from the workshop. I've been trying to add in the things I remembered from that, but this was last December, so there was a lot I didn't remember, so I'm glad I looked up his follow-up email. I know I should be doing navasana (boat pose) but I can't help hating that one. I should also be doing the kneeling back bend, which I like but had forgotten about entirely. The workshop was really cool, now that I'm looking over the email; Gene came up with a list of seven poses/exercises that you do in order, and each time you repeat the sequence, you add a few more repetitions. He calls it a ladder, and each circuit of poses is one "step" on the ladder. I may have to print this out and start doing this a few mornings a week instead of my regular ashtanga, especially if I keep up with the daily routine. From what I remember from the workshop, the whole ladder concept kicked my butt. My butt could use some kicking.
