This morning I tried doing the yoga strength training "ladder" routine I described yesterday. I made it through three full circuits, three "steps", out of four on the sample sheet I had. Oh man. I won't be able to move on to the fourth circuit for a while, I think, not until I stop wanting to collapse and die after the third. I'm hurting already, and I think I pulled something in my back. As much as my body really wants to do yoga, I don't think my body is excited about strengthening exercises. The squats and pushups weren't bad, since I had already been doing them regularly, but the rest of it, especially the ab work, really killed me. I still can't hold an arch for any length of time, and I still hate table top pose. And I'm worst at navasana. But overall, I think this is really good work for me to be doing, and I'm hoping I'll be able to work it into my routine maybe twice a week. Today it took me maybe 45 minutes to do three circuits, so it takes the same amount of time as a full yoga routine. Hopefully I can make myself keep doing it.
