I'm having a great trip! And my presence is an excellent excuse for decadence. We're going out to dinner again tonight.
Mmm, Emily just made breakfast. Yum.
Elan's bachelorette party on Thursday was amazingly fun. I realized that I've never been to a bachelorette party before. I think that's because I'm always having to travel ridiculous distances to go to weddings, so I never make the pre-wedding fun. In any case, this was an excellent time. Elan wore a cowgirl hat (decorated with a plastic bride and groom tied to the front of it, and veil stuff trailing down in back) and she had a lasso she made excellent use of. She seemed to have a great time, and it was fun just watching her. And now I have all these great ideas, Amy. Mwahahaha. (Mine is an evil laugh.)
After the party I crashed out on a couch at the Dings' house (Emily Dings' parents kindly hosted us) and headed over to Jess & Emily's around 12:30. We went out to dinner Friday night at a fabulous place called King Tut's. I recommend the Egyptian sampler. Best hummus ever, no lie. Jess is a hummus connoisseur and she says so too.
Elan's wedding was yesterday. It was so perfectly them. Out in the middle of the Smoky Mountains, in a tent, with a potluck dinner and contra dancing afterward. Very laid back and fun. And Elan's dress was beautiful: she ordered the lace from England and her mom made it. Very old fashioned and classy and beautiful. The wedding started at 4:30; I got there around 3:30 (just to be safe; everyone else did too) and didn't leave until close to midnight. It was kind of freaky, driving out of the park in the middle of the night--it was so DARK, and I was all by myself--but I made it back to Jess and Emily's with no problem. And then I met Jess and some of her friends for sushi.
Today we slept in, and Emily made breakfast and I'm doing laundry, and Jess and I are going to do some yoga when we're done digesting, and then we're going out for dinner again and then to her Sunday night game. Lots of fun and excitement. :)

Date: 2006-08-13 06:40 pm (UTC)From:I think I might be able to do Hershey park soon, but I don't get my first pay check for another week and two days; so I'm not sure exactly how much I'll have to spend on not-car-things. (but hershey park tickets are only $50, I think they used to be $80) But I guess it would be good to go before the end of September, or else we'll never go. Plus end-of-september is my Boston time.
How much will the old-timey picture cost?? And then money for food, games, and gas.

Date: 2006-08-14 01:00 pm (UTC)From:I was just listening to "Naughty Boy" by Günther, and I think I found my new favorite moment in the entire album. One of the sunshine girls hears Günther say something about sex, and so she goes, "sex, sex! Unh, unh!"
I almost laughed out loud right here in my cube. I <3 Günther.
