so i just tried to watch the new strongbad email, and it got like halfway through but then my internet explorer crashed. damned old computer. jorn, you'll just have to show it to me on your computer at a later date. what i saw was really cute, at least, and the music was perfect.

today i slept in at jorn's place (got up around 9am), and then watched three episodes of buffy. it's been a few weeks since i've been able to watch, being at my parents' house and all, so i was excited to watch some today. i plan to watch more tomorrow. and seth green was in two of the episodes i watched! he played a high school guitarist with a local band, and he keeps seeing willow and thinking she's cute. i'm wondering if he's going to turn up again, kind of like the computer teacher being a love interest for giles. (i'm about six episodes into the second season, if you couldn't tell). i'm also really, really curious about spike, since i know from the commercials on tv now that he will eventually turn over to buffy's side. no clue how or when that's going to happen.

maybe i should write some poems this week? nah, there's still five and a half weeks till my thesis reading!!!!

yesterday i put away all my clothes and took down all the christmas decorations. that was good. i still need to sweep the house and maybe, actually, mop. no one's mopped this apartment since i moved in, and elan picked up some murphy's oil soap, i think. maybe the floors here could actually be cleaned. i don't feel like mopping, though, or even sweeping even though it desperately needs to be done. it's so cold in this apartment during the day, and that makes the idea of sweeping even worse. maybe i'll just hang out until the heaters kick on around dinnertime and then sweep. in the meantime, i can pay bills or something.

things i want to do this week:
-call Geico--see what my insurance is going to cost me this semester (it should be going down, since that speeding ticket finally came off my record!)
-call rhett and perhaps hang out this week--i want to see that movie Frida, and i bet she'll go with me. perhaps an afternoon show.
-make jorn watch Monsoon Wedding with me. i've had it for months but we haven't watched it yet. also, though, he's been asking me for ages to watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure with him. so we should watch that too. plus i still have the PeeWee's Playhouse Christmas Special on video that we haven't watched yet, besides copious pokemon videos and several episodes of csi (and buffy!!). i feel like we're always watching things.
-speaking of watching, wednesday is star trek night. it's a new one this week. usually we order papa john's, but maybe instead we'll go to $2 pancakes, we haven't done that in a long while.
-maybe we should have a party on friday night! there's nothing else to do, really, and i want to see xina and jt and rhett and tom and sunshine. i think it sounds like a good idea.

anyway, brr.

Yay Seth Green! I don't want to ruin any of the fun for you, but yeah, he's in more than just the two episodes. Was one of the episodes you saw the Halloween one? That was one of my favorites. I just can't remember exactly when he first showed up. But he really got the more memorable lines. Even though he only got like one in each episode.

Monsoon Wedding?

I hated Monsoon Wedding. All I remember about it was that a) It had an old man who was a child molester in it. b) This love-stricken guy kept eating flowers. And most importantly, c) There were absolutely NO nuclear holocausts, people getting impaled with Ginsu knives, (You know, they cut everything!), and now that I think about it, I don't even recall ONE SINGLE PERSON going crazy go nuts! Absolutely appalling. Jorn, if you haven't seen it, don't.

i *loved* that movie! it's a beautiful movie. and i don't mean "love" in the same way that i loved The Wedding Planner or Ten Things I Hate About You, or even the way i love Indiana Jones--i loved Monsoon Wedding the way i loved American Beauty and Crouching Tiger. you, my dear, are just too young to understand. *hmph*
