Really cool YA book. Young girl, moves to an old house on an island, mysteries abound, strange script must be translated, mom is in danger and must be saved. I felt it got a little born-again Jesusy at the end, though that could just be me, since Jesus himself was never mentioned, but the eagle-like Higher Power in question seemed representative. But it was still a cool book, and I really liked it.
