this afternoon, i started my credentials file in the uncg career services office. not that there's any credentials in it yet, but i know whom i'll be asking for letters. i also started researching the c.v. and what to put in the statement of teaching philosophy. the c.v., at least, shouldn't be too difficult--it's not like i have much to put on there.
also started some research on my saint augustine project. i talked to anne in the CASA office where i work--she's a history prof who teaches western civ--and she kind of laughed when i told her what i wanted to look up. i mean, augustine didn't even write about the woman, so why would anyone else? but i did find an interesting academic article online, and i know which 20th century biographer is the one to read, and anne's going to take a look in some women's history books she's got. so it's a start, at least. and i'm meeting with fred on tuesday to talk about some other poems--i'm going to ask him if it's okay for me to meet with him two weeks in a row (we're only supposed to meet with them once every three weeks), so i can get his input on the saint augustine stuff as well. i think he'll be down with that.
for this weekend: write some poems--i need a whole lot more for my thesis. go to the library and research me up some augustine. do this job stuff and get it over with. go roller skating with rhett and co. on saturday afternoon, and hopefully watch the superbowl somewhere on sunday.
all this work while my boy is off having fun in boston... :(
i think what might be an issue for me is staying on task with all of my current tasks--researching saint augustine, getting the job material together, and writing new poems. i just get sucked in to things sometimes and forget all the other things that should be going on. but i have to stay on task with the poems, i just have to, or i'll be screwed. and i refuse to have a sub-par thesis.
