last night, elan came home from her office at around 7, and we sat around talking and bitching for like two hours. then we decided that since we obviously weren't getting any work done, we should rent a movie. we went to blockbuster first, but decided they had a shitty selection and went to video review instead. they have a freakin' amazing selection. jorn, we're going there from now on, totally. so we got the movie, and on the way home decided we needed food, so we went through the taco bell drive-thru. came home, ate quesadillas, vegged on the couch, watched Velvet Goldmine (AAAAAAHHHH!!!!). ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
pocketwitch, i'd love to chat with you about it--i feel like i missed some things, since my tv is weird (the screen is darker than it should be, and i can't adjust the brightness since the remote was stolen by some senile old person--long story) and i think i missed a few crucial things... i did not miss ewan macgregor naked and glittering, however. :) :) :)
today, i slept in way too late, and in the afternoon went roller skating with rhett, tom, elan, angie, ezra, virgil & caroline, and will. will didn't get to skate since he broke his foot last month, but i guess sitting around at a roller skating rink beats sitting around at home. but it was a great thing to do--i hadn't been skating since i was like fourteen, and it was kind of terrifying at first. especially since there were what seemed like several thousand little kids who were all darting back and forth really fast right in front of you, or, even worse, were stomping along awkwardly all holding hands in a big line. i only fell a few times though, and didn't land on anyone. and they played thriller! with the lights all off and the disco ball going. it was rad. jorn, i missed you so much, you would've loved it.
after skating, we (rhett and elan and tom and angie and i) decided we would play scrabble ("just one game!"), and it was especially exciting because angie hadn't played scrabble since she was a little kid, and she didn't know the rules or anything. naturally, she kicked our asses. it was a good time. then, we were all hungry since it was almost 7pm, and we decided to go out for mexican food. argh. i drank an horchata and ate (what else?) a chicken quesadilla, and it was good. then when i got home, even though it was like 9pm, i still had to go shopping to pick up some things since i had been putting it off for two days. got some face moisturizer at walmart, since my skin has been sore and dry from the cold lately. also popped by jorn's apartment (finally) to get the turkey and milk. i peeked at the vcr, and it looked like the timer was still on, babe.
so now it's 11:17pm, and i've been out all damn day and haven't gotten any work done and didn't even work on my job application. and i'm tired, i can't get legitimate thinking done like this. one thing, though, my c.v. is pretty much done as far as i can tell--i got *that* done last night, at least. i was going to get lots of work done and writing done while jorn was out of town, but all i've done is hang out with friends and mope about the fact that he's not here. great productive weekend, rox.

I'd like to think they got back together, because that would just be lovely, but it's probably unlikely. :P

Date: 2003-01-27 05:55 pm (UTC)From:you know, jorn and i should come out and visit you sometime. my roommate elan has a boyfriend near there (he works at the state park?), so maybe next time she goes for a weekend, we'll carpool. then we can rent ewan movies and bake desserts together and talk about the amber spyglass and stuff. :)
