EVERYBODY'S DOING IT OMG.

Sammy Cat is thoroughly washing himself. And he hasn't been under the bed in a full 30 minutes. I take this as a good sign.

Tonight: spending time with my cat, attempting to coax my cat into the living room, yoga, writing, cooking salmon for dinner, and watching LOST at 10.

it occurs to me that under the bed is where Sophie hung out when I first brought her in...

it is still her "comfort" spot when new (or tall) people show up.

When we moved about 18 months ago our boy, Mikhail, did the same thing as Sammy. Mikhail had never known anything but our big house and now he was being taken to a much smaller condo. He stayed under my bed for days not eating or drinking. Finally he came out long enough to get a quick munch a quick dring and a quick piddle and then he retreated to under my bed again. He lived there for about a month. I regularly laid beside the bed and talked to him but I never tried to move him. Finally he began coming out. Now, a bit over 18 months later he is sleeping happily on the bed right in back of me as I write.

I'm glad to hear Sammy is emerging so rapidly :)
