I just spent half an hour wrestling my new curtains.
First impression: I ordered them yesterday, and they arrived today. I now feel better about having spent the $8.94 on shipping.
Negatives: Okay, the space to insert the rod (shut UP) at the top of the curtain was not big enough to insert my pinkie finger into. Let alone the curtain rod. And of course, the rod that I bought for this window is not round but oblong, so it's wider than a round rod would be and would. not. fit. in. the hole. OMG. I could tell that the rod path/pocket widened a bit after the opening, so I ended up cutting the edges of the curtain hole in order to get the rod in. I actually had to damage the curtains to get them on the rod, so I can't return them now even if I wanted to. (Another, more sensible person would have returned either the curtains or the rod--but I wanted immediate curtain satisfaction, and I *like* these curtains, and I had already opened the rod package and it's not resealable so I can't return that either, and I refuse to take the $7 loss or whatever and buy a new rod just because. So there.) And it's an adjustable rod, so I had to fight with the area where the rod parts overlap to get that in, too. Biggest pain ever. They are also a bit longer than I had hoped, and the ties don't hang all nicely like they do in the picture. They sort of flop. And they're way, way longer than they should be. It looks like I have ropes dangling behind the TV, even after I tied them in bows and then knotted the bow loops.
Positives: The colors are perfect--perfect!--for the living room. And the texture is nice, and the fabric is thin enough to let in lots of light. Overall it looks pretty okay. I might end up just entirely ditching the tie-up aspect, though, and having Nancy come over with her portable sewing machine to hem them up to a decent length.
