For any interested parties: Amy and Josh had the baby! It's a boy, and his name is Elliot, and mom and baby are fine.

Every baby I know that was born in the past year is a boy. There must be something in the water. All over the country. Seriously, though: Joanna, Suzie, Ebeth, Amy, Jen & Sheila, Dan & Meg, Jay & Torie from SUUSI, Angie & Jake, even Evil!Melissa all had boy babies. That's a lot of babies.

Speaking of SUUSI. I got the "online registration is open" email and wanted to cry. I would really, really like to go back there someday. But I worry that it's a Jorn thing, or a Jorn-and-Audrey thing, and I wouldn't be welcome. Not that anyone's unwelcome at SUUSI--more like I wouldn't have anyone to hang out with? And I can't go this summer, so by the time I am able to go again everyone will have forgotten me. And it just makes me really sad. I would like to be a real part of that. Would have liked to have been. Would like to be. Dammit.

It's The Year of The Boy. Kim and Matt also had a boy. So did Steev's ex and her hubby. Boys galore.... All those Y chromosomes are taking over!

Pass along my congratulations to Amy & Josh.

Also, in regards to SUUSI, I doubt anyone would forget you. :) I'm sure if you get the chance to go again, you'll have a great time.

I don't know, I had a bad case of I'm just his girlfriend" syndrome. I'm not good in big groups when I don't know anybody, so I feel like I spent a lot of the week just standing around near Jorn. But I do feel like there were some people I connected with really well. I really hope I get to go back sometime.

Ahhh, evil melissa had a baby? That kind of sounds familiar; maybe I blocked out the trauma of that information. That poor boy...

And Rox...about SUUSI, I know a number of people that would be really glad to see you back there. SUUSI people have a way of remembering SUUSI faces for a long time. And every year there are new people that you would probably love to make friends with (and would undoubtedly love to make friends with you). I know at this point it would probably feel weird because of what happened with us. But maybe by next year it wouldn't anymore. If you ever think you feel comfortable enough to come back to SUUSI, I would love to hang out with you! And reintroduce you to all the great people. :)

Yeah, and he's got some asshole kind of name, too. Tyler, maybe. (No offense to the many people in the world with kids named Tyler, but that just screams asshole kid to me.) Something like that.

I also feel like I missed the most opportune life window for maximum SUUSI bonding, you know? Like, people seem to really bond when they're teens or YAs. But I really liked everyone there so much. And there are so many people I'd like to see again. So I would like to go back sometime. Maybe next summer.

Actually, my friend [livejournal.com profile] lillibet had a girl. And my co-worker Carlita is having a girl, as well. But those are the only two I know of, so perhaps there is a male-conspiracy going on.

I'm glad to hear there are some girl children being born. Otherwise all the baby boys I know won't have any girls to flirt with when they get bigger!

I don't think I'm going this year, either. I need to be saving up moneys for serious. However, I would like to go again 'someday' as well. If you and I end up going to the same SUUSI you can always hang out with me!

I also don't want to go this year because of the whole VT thing. They're going to make a big deal out of it, and I don't really want to be there for that. More people die in Iraqi schools pretty much every day, I don't see what was so shocking about it. *shrug* Anyway. I guess my main point is that we will totally hang out if we end up at the same SUUSI together.

I think it would rock to go to SUUSI when you're also at SUUSI!

What the heck is SUUSI? I feel like I should attend something that shares my name.

It stands for Southern Unitarian Universalist Summer Institutes. It's the conference Jorn goes to every summer. I went in 2005 and it was really good, I loved all the people and had a really good time.

Did you read my poem? I posted a poem!
