Another library find. A very sweet, sad YA romance, and a very quick read. It skims quite neatly around the issue of how in fact a man and a mermaid actually do the deed (which it should do, being a YA book), but I'm still wondering about the logistics. Overall, though, really enjoyable, and it ended the way it should.
Just a note on my reading progress: this book puts me at 55 books for the year! March and April were banner reading months, with 12 and 13 books read respectively, but May's already got 11 and it's not over yet. My goal was to average 10 books a month, and so far I'm well ahead of that, which is very nice. Of course, I'm reading a wide variety of stuff, and my reading has been heavy on fantasy and young adult books, but I've also read some interesting nonfiction and more "literary" fiction, and I've read nine literary journals and a few books of poetry, neither of which I've read any of since maybe 2003. So I think that, in general, I'm doing really well.

Date: 2007-05-25 10:23 pm (UTC)From:so, good news! as long as you and heather don't mind me sleeping on the floor or sharing one of the full beds, i can go to the conference! he expressed doubts that we would be comfortable because its a twin and a full bed in the room, but i've shared smalled spaces with heather before. otherwise, the only single room left would cost be $1085 for the conference, which is half my monthly salary, and thus impossible.
miles also said they can waive a portion of the fee so that the conference would be more affordable!!!
