Another loan from Mike in the art department. A couple million years into the future, a race of monkey people is beginning to build a new civilization on Earth, but first they must compete with the ancient bug race, the Hjjks. This was actually the sequel to another book, called At Winter's End, in which the monkey people emerge from their long hibernation (I assume). I'm not sure why Mike gave me this one to start with, but it was definitely a good read. I'd like to read the previous book, I guess. I don't know if there are more after this, but I don't really care that much. My favorite characters were the peaceful little caviendis, anyway.
