I got so busy before I left for the airport Thursday afternoon that I didn't get a chance to post the Scrabble scores. It ended up being a rather lengthy deathmatch of a Scrabble game--Jean and Kristina and I played outside, and it was really fun. We also watched a nearby group of fellow employees of [our company] getting a game of four square going. They chalked lines on the ground to make the squares and they had the appropriate big red rubber playground ball and everything.
Anyway, Scrabble. I pretty much rocked this game. After skipping my first turn for lack of a spot to put a word in, I did really well. Here are my words:
DAZE (24 points)
BOLTED/BE (31 points)
RUMORS/ER (30 points)
PAR (10 points)
MOLDED/UM/NO (26 points)
BLUE (18 points)
HIE/IT/ER (14 points)
WHAT (20 points)
TITS/ITS (15 points--and TITS is in the Scrabble dictionary, because tits are small birds)
AR/AH (9 points)
RA (3 points--I was stuck the last few turns with three As in my hand, and then nothing but As after the last letters were pulled)
So I got two darn good 30-point words, a few 20-point words, and some others that weren't too bad. I won with a score of 194, and I can't remember who was second--Jean and Kristina had been duking it out (hence the "deathmatch") and had been going back and forth with points over the course of the game. I remember Jean started off super strong but then Kristina got ahead of her, but I can't remember who finally beat whom. It was a really fun game, though.
