My words today:

16 points - DOTH
19 points - TIED/HOPE
17 points - MIDGE/OM/PI
22 points - YINS/AGENTS
32 points - YORE/WANE
29 points - VOX/OWED
5 points - GO
8 points - SIS/SATE

Minus 3 points to Kari, who went out first, and I finished with 145. Kari was next with 140, then Jean with a 90-something, then Christine, who would not disclose her score. Lou couldn't play today, Kristina's on vacation (at the beach, and in this weather, poor thing), and Tariq is out sick.

I'm always excited to win, but I feel like I check the dictionary too often. Today, I checked on DOTH (archaic forms okay?), OM (my yoga teacher spells it with an H?), YINS (plural okay?), and VOX (really a word?). My instinct was right on all of these, but I checked anyway. Maybe I feel like the win would be more valuable if I just knew this stuff and didn't have to look it up? But I didn't have to look it up--I just looked it up anyway. So I think I am going to lay off the dictionary usage for a while.

I've always seen the mantra spelled "om"— "ohm" is a unit of electrical resistance, so your yoga teacher makes me smile. :)

Oh! Then that's not where I've seen that before. Good to know both versions are a word, then! :)
