Tariq's been out of the office the past three weeks on an injury, and today he was back! I welcomed him by kicking his ass at Scrabble. We had a good big group today: Tariq, Lou, and I played one game, and Jean, Christine, Kristina, and Karen played on the other board. It was really fun.
My words:
26 points - FAILED
27 points - JOG
12 points - CRY
15 points - TRAIN/TY (I am endeavoring not to look things up in the dictionary, so I didn't look up TY before I played it. When I checked later, though, it wasn't in there! Nobody called me on it, though.)

27 points - GRAFT (Lou had played AFT two squares below the triple word)
18 points - ITEM/BE/EM
26 points - LAND/ID (okay, Jean suggested this one, but I would have seen it eventually)
26 points - QI/IF (I had that damn Q in my hand since the second turn and never got a single U!)
12 points - JOT/IT
Minus 3 points because Tariq went out first, and I ended with a 208. Lou showed his displeasure by picking letters off the board and throwing them at me. Then he tried to pack up his dirty napkins into the Scrabble box.
Tariq just brought up the Scrabble crown. It's been down at his desk in the mailroom for months now. I thought it had gotten lost or something. Awesome.
