Today's Scrabble game was really close! Playing: me, Tariq, Christine, Jean, and Liam (making his Scrabble debut).

My words:

Christine played down from the V in VIAL to place VAIN on the triple-word block, using up her letters and ultimately winning the game.

Probably my favorite move this game was HAD, which I placed vertically next to the vertical WAKER to get AH and KA, with the H on a double word block. That was pretty good.

Liam played remarkably well for his first game with us, I thought. He started off slow, but then played NEWSY horizontally on the top right triple-word, with something vertical too I think, and just blew us all away for like 44 points. I hope he plays again, he acquitted himself admirably.

Jean also played really well this game and racked up some points, but somehow she came in last.

Final scores: Christine 122, Tariq 113, me 111, Liam 101, and Jean 87. It was close right up to the end.
