I've been meaning to polish my black stompy boots for a while now, and I finally got around to doing it tonight. I still had the polish from when I bought them, which I realize must have been probably 2004? Fall of 2005 at the latest. I feel pretty sure that I wore these boots to Manray, and that would have been 2004. Anyway, I hadn't polished or waterproofed them since I bought them, and there was some serious dust under the laces. Yuck. I polished them up pretty good, and I made a pretty big mess--I had to spread out grocery bags under the boots themselves, and I got polish all over my hands and also on my pants. It took probably half an hour, and my hands got all cramped up from squeezing the bottle.
Conclusion: I am not a big fan of boot-blacking. In fact I would say that I do not like it very much!
Anyway, I'll probably do the waterproofing sometime this weekend, and then my boots will be all shiny and ready for another winter of stomping.
