Okay, what the hell? I was guessing, all through the whole episode, that Kate had some kid before the crash and that was the big thing she was trying so hard to get back to off the island. But no, now we find out that for some reason she took Claire's baby. Does something happen to Claire? And we still don't know why Kate wants off the island so badly. I can't believe she took Aaron. The psychic guy told Claire that she had to raise Aaron. I'm really pissed. Kate didn't even want to hold Aaron, and I was figuring it was because she had some other kid and it would upset her. And then she told Sawyer she knew she wasn't pregnant, and I thought maybe she knew that because something had gone wrong when she had the first kid and she knew she couldn't have any more. That was what they were building us up for, the whole episode, but it was just a red herring. So we don't know why Kate wants off the island, or why she's so touchy about babies, but we do know that she takes Claire's child. WTF?

i have to applaud sawyer for pretty much being the only guy on the island to tell kate, and for that matter everyone else, the straight truth about themselves without a candy coating. she may have slapped him for it, but he nailed her, figuratively and literally.
as for why kate has aaron specifically, it's obviously some part of the oceanic cover up, which jack shed a little more light on with his testimony, and kate confirmed with their talk at the taxi. he's told that story how many times? how did kate get that nice house? the settlement/compensation was very, very good to her. but who is the guy that came to see hurley, and what does he want?
here's my theory, for now. what if the future we keep seeing is actually multiple futures? what if we're seeing what could happen, given any number of present day choices? so in one future, jack is depressed and reclusive. in another there's a giant cover up. in yet another, kate has aaron. and so on and so forth. whatever's going on, i'm going to eat a grenade sandwich myself if they don't start answering more questions than they ask.
