oh, and the temp agency thing went well this afternoon. i was there for over an hour and a half. i took the typing test, and the word, excel, and powerpoint tests. 62 wpm with 4 errors, and good scores on word and excel especially--powerpoint i'm not so strong in, especially when my computer use tactic is to click on some stuff till i find the button that does what i want. this tactic does not work on a powerpoint skills test, so there were a bunch of the advanced skills i couldn't do. other than that, the things i got wrong were totally things that i could've done in the regular program easily (like adjusting the left margin! hello!) but couldn't do the way the test wanted me to do it (you just drag the little triangle thingy across the ruler--why do it any other way?). anyway, Lisa seemed very impressed with me, and i actually feel confident i could get a job through her. i'll give her a call next week to remind her i'm out here.
also, i did the grocery shopping and unpacked my stuff and put my clothes away. woot. and i talked to elan--jorn, she would be cool with you moving in here for the summer, if you're still skeeved about your skeevy neighborhood. we'll talk about it later.
hey to DB and The Furnace: how's august 1st sound to you?
