Fred's back? How can Fred possibly be back? Her soul was consumed in the fires of resurrection! And that's a direct quote! Not that I don't love Fred and don't want to see her be okay, but really! They better have a goddamn plausible explanation for this. I mean, it makes sense to have ghost!Wesley, because of the contract with Wolfram & Hart. That's plausible. Angel no longer being a vampire is not so plausible, and it's annoying. So they'd better have a really good reason for why Fred can be not dead and not a god.

I don't know, I'm not loving the Angel comics. The whole thing just seems like a big contrived mess. And like they're bringing back characters just to bring back characters, like Angel's greatest hits or something. Like, WTF about the fish? He was in some comic before, and so they had to drag him into the plot now? Eh. Not loving it.

The Buffy comics, on the other hand, I am adoring. Go Satsu! That scene in Buffy's bedroom where everyone comes bursting in is hilarious. It feels like they're doing the best they can to keep the Buffy comics true to the show. Which is not what it feels like with the Angel comics. So there.

Exactly and exactly my thoughts on the matter!

I tried the Angel comics for 3 or 4 issues but just could NOT get into it. I didn't like the story, couldn't follow the writing, and didn't like the art.

But I'm ALL about Buffy season 8. I agree, it really does feel like season 8, a real continuation. I laugh and talk back to the book while reading each episode book. Pure joy! :)

What I don't understand is, how is an entire city, one of the largest cities in the world, sent to hell without the rest of the world noticing? And yeah, I was perplexed by Fred being back too. But you could tell that it's being scripted by somebody just wishing they could be as mean as Joss, because at the end of issue 5 they actually say "and yes, we are aware how cruel we are." Really? Just gonna spell it out like that, huh? Lame.

Makes me glad I'm downloading them for free.

Well, we don't know if anyone noticed that LA disappeared. So far the story's only been told from LA's perspective, which is in hell--we haven't seen anything from the real world. And Angel season 6 would be taking place a year ahead of Buffy season 8 (Angel season 5 is still going on during Buffy 8) so nobody in Buffy would be able to do anything about it.

But yeah, really not loving it.
