supercheesegirl: (watch out!)
so i have temp job. starting on wednesday. and i talked to the ladies at my temp agency today, and i found out that the company is on the corner of elm and bellemeade in downtown greensboro! which means it's almost right across the street from the building where jorn works! and i'll be parking in the parking garage that's right there too. so when he moves in with me, i can give him a ride to work every morning, and we can have lunch together and stuff! i'm really excited. hopefully the company won't suck and i'll like working there; i've never worked for a mortgage company before.

here's the bad thing rox did, though. i really needed some new work-appropriate clothes. neither pair of my good khakis fits anymore, and i had i think one short skirt (not like mini-short, just normal short) (other than the one tight black one with the side slits that really isn't work-appropriate) (have you ever noticed how awkward it is to type the word "appropriate"?). so rox went to kohl's to see if they had good sales. and rox spent $55.

i got three skirts and one top, so i did get some good deals. i mean, if i had bought the stuff at the regular price, i would've gotten one skirt and half a top. but it's still a lot of money. i got one knee-length jean skirt, one knee-length khaki skirt, one pretty flowery skirt, and an off-white top that matches it (but, being off-white, it will match lots of other things, too). all of those items are versatile enough that i'll also wear them when i'm not working, especially because i don't wear shorts, so the skirts will be great. but still, $55. on my mastercard. but i really did need some new things, and by the end of the month i'll be able to pay it off. nevermind that i went looking for khaki PANTS and still don't have any, and nevermind the fact that if i hadn't put on the damn weight in the first place i wouldn't need new things.

anyway, elan had a party for her freshman seminar students today, because freshman seminar classes are allotted a certain amount of money that the teacher can spend on whatever. so after taking all her students to go see Bowling for Columbine, she decided to have a party with the leftover money. and now the leftover food from the party is here in our apartment! i had two free slices of pizza for dinner (the ymmuy pesto sauce w/ tomato), and there's a bunch of sandwich fixin's from subway in the fridge for tomorrow. plus elan says she's got water and apple juice out in her car that she hasn't brought upstairs yet. woot. i am always up for free stuff.

okay, time to go clip my coupons. and start packing some things to make room for jorn's things (which is a good thing for me to do, since i have so much crap anyway). and play some zelda, of course. last night i beat level 6: the mermaid dungeon. now i go on to the really complicated underwater stuff.

oh, and i bought a birthday present for jorn today. heehee!
