This is a spectacularly wonderful novel. It's incredibly sad and very well researched and has a terrific conversational voice throughout, and it's smart and funny and has FOOTNOTES, for goodness' sake, and I adored it and it filled me with sadness and wonder all at the same time. Which I kind of think is what Junot was going for. I absolutely loved it and I recommend it to everyone and I think it's the kind of book that's going to be around forever. Go read it.
