What a sharp, smart little book. Anna Gonzales, a high school freshman, has killed herself, and this book records the responses of the people in her high school when they find out the next morning. Partly a YA novel, partly a poetry collection. This is well worth reading, and well worth giving to any teenagers you know. It shot me right back to what it feels like to be in high school. A really lovely meditation on teen suicide. Desperately sad and also beautifully life affirming at the same time.
