This novel was a lot of fun. Like a cross between Law & Order: SVU and CSI set in the Middle Ages. I really enjoyed the story and the characters, although I was upset at a few events...
I was mad that Simon died, I liked him. I was upset that the dog died. And I didn't love the lack of resolution to the love story. A woman in the Middle Ages needs to be careful with her virginity, yo! Especially when she's already a foreign heathen doctor who could easily be suspected of witchcraft! But I guess that's for the sequel to deal with. Meh.
Overall, though, a good read. If the above-mentioned tv shows freak you out or disturb you, then by all means you should NOT read this book. But if you like them, check it out.
