books 2008: Learning to Drive, by Katha Pollitt

Nonfiction. This was truly excellent. I want to be just like Katha Pollitt as I get older. I loved her view of the world, the way she looked, really looked, at society and her own life and what it means to be a woman and aging. She's sharp and funny and smart, and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

I think I might get this book for my mom for Christmas.
