This was surprisingly good, especially since it was just a random pull from the library. I liked the characters a lot and thought they were well done, Tom especially.

Synopsis for future reference: Ann's husband John was in a terrible car accident 12 years ago, leaving him in a permanent vegetative state. Since then, Ann's life has been frozen in place--she knows he will never wake up, but she can't discard her marriage vows either, and she can't imagine what the future could hold for her. Then Tom moves in next door, spending a summer with his estranged teenage daughter...
