books 2008: Dragonspell, by Donita K. Paul

This was a nice YA fantasy read. I really enjoyed the book, and the world and story that Paul creates. Kale is a good character, if a little down on herself and repetitive about it, and I was really interested in her various talents. I found the Christ imagery (Paladin and Wulder) a little overbearing at times, but it didn't disturb my enjoyment of the story too much. I would read a sequel.

I ordered #2 from the library--I've got a ton of nonfiction to read right now, and could use some more light easy fantasy to supplement. It's not a big priority, though.
