also, i would like to say that frisbee is super fun. we played on friday afternoon, and it was way better than when we played a few weeks back (last week it rained, and the week before that was graduation, so it was the week before that when we last played). friday afternoon was just beautiful, weather-wise, and the grass has grown in on the field we play on, so i wasn't running around in my bare feet on hard dry dirt anymore. since the grass grew in, the uncg people had even painted convenient white lines on it, which was helpful.
i played a lot better than i did last time, too. drew joined us this week, and he's awesome. usually when i'm like, hey i'm open throw it to me, people look right at me and then throw it to someone else (who can't get to it in time and miss it, when i'm *right there*) because everyone knows i suck, but drew would look at me with a look like yeah you can catch this, and he'd throw it to me. and i'd catch it. we did a bunch of good back and forth passes, and i contributed to positively to my team scoring goals. and another time, jeremy happened to throw a really bad pass that went way up high, and i caught it. after that, when i was like, hey i'm open, he would throw to me. and most times, i caught it. i know i'm not some superfrisbee girl or anything, and i can't throw very well or very far yet, but i do get better when actually given a chance, and i do catch the thing more times than i miss. anyway, i just felt a lot more... accepted, i guess, and part of the group than i did last time. not that this group of people is exclusionary or anything--i mean, this week will played with us, and people threw to him too--but they can be all cliquey sometimes. and this week i didn't feel like they were cliquey so much. maybe because it was a smaller group.
also, i was worried that my legs would cramp up again like they did before and i'd lose the ability to walk again, but that didn't happen. it was good exercise, and i was sore the next day but not overly so. and it was lots of fun.

Date: 2003-06-05 09:03 am (UTC)From:and i so absolutely recommend yoga. it's really worth the money if you can find a good place to do it; if i had been able to sign up for the summer at my local yoga place (is it a studio?), i would've preferred to do that over the health club thing. before, i was taking at school, but i can't get that rate anymore, and the local place just raised their prices. ugh. but i'm still trying to do the yoga stretches regularly--i made so much progress last semester (i can do a backbend now, and lots of other neat things) and i don't want to lose that. yeah, go do some yoga--it's good for thinking too.
