Well, dammit, now I have to read the third one. The second one I think was better than the first, and now that he's not just playing with the concept, Stirling has room to build a really good story. Juniper wasn't as annoying in this one, possibly because we spent a lot less time with her, and I like the addition of the Lorings and John Hordle. Although they are rather conveniently male. And I've always liked Mike Havel. So I'm in for book 3. Sigh.
