hey y'all. i guess i should post about our visit to atlanta, since i haven't done that yet. we had a great time. danyell took us to cool places and we bought cool stuff and drank cool coffee and ate cool food (well, hot food that figuratively cool). it was an awesome weekend (not cool though, because it was pretty hot outside).
the only bad thing was the random pointless traffic we hit about an hour outside of atlanta both going there and on the way back. on the way back the traffic was near some construction, and we heard there had been an accident, but on the way there it seemed completely without a reason. anyway, we sat for an hour both times. if i add this to the traffic i hit last time i was in atlanta (driving to and from new orleans) then 3 out of 4 times i've driven on 85 around atlanta i've hit horrid traffic. there's nothing specifically wrong with the road. wdp, atlanta?
when i got back on monday, i had to deal with piles and piles of stuff at work. because of all the stuff on friday, the faxes were completely piled up--i hadn't had time to even check them on friday, so on monday i had loads of them to go through, plus still trying to get accounts created and email addresses verified. crapzor. i wasn't able to actually clean out the faxes till yesterday afternoon, and on monday i stayed till almost 5pm working on it. i've been a busy little bee here at work.
after work yesterday, i took my poor sick jornzor home and then went to walmart and to blockbuster and to bilo. when i left work, i kind of had to pee, and i also had the beginnings of a sinus headache that i thought would clear up when i got some fresh air. of course not. so two and a half hours later when i got home, my bladder was close to exploding and so was my forehead. i was miserable. jornzor and i had some chicken soup and then watched Spirited Away with elan. there's not a whole lot of movies that i feel are worth buying so you can watch them again and again, but that's definitely one of them. it was just great.
in the middle of Spirited Away, we had to pause the dvd so that we could watch America's Next Top Model on upn from 9 to 10. we're hooked on that show. we really like elyse, and we're liking adrianne more and more, but we're totally sick of good christian robin. i mean, she seems like a nice person, but it's getting in her way and she's all preachy all the time. but as much as i like elyse and adrian, i don't know if either of them should win. (elyse did say something hilarious last night, though--she's got a background in science, and she's really smart, so when asked by a reporter how she feels about being photographed nude, she said something along the lines of "well, bodies are just bodies, so if someone wants to look at the fatty lumps on my chest, i don't really care"). but i'm thinking the winner could be kesse (since she's really sweet, and she looks like tyra) or maybe shannon, if she can get past the "i don't smoke i don't drink and i'm a virgin" thing. i'm not saying she should go get laid, but again with the preachiness--not so cool. plus she's having some problems workin' her sexy thang. they're modeling undies in paris next week, so maybe that'll break her. :)
in other news, jerod is coming to visit us this weekend. should be fun. of course, that means tonight i must obsessively clean the house, and poor jorn is sick so i can't make him help me. i *hate* sweeping, too, and the floor is always the thing that most needs cleaned. grumpzor.
To Do:
-go grocery shopping
-get GC for kari/josh; mail with a copy of my thesis
-call kathleen RE advice about Chakras and haircuts; make a reservation
-call to move the moving van reservation
-call to cancel the credit protection on my mastercard
-draino the bathroom sink again (did elan do it, or did it miraculously clear up by itself? who cares?)
-clean the bathroom, clean the kitchen, sweep the whole apartment, mop the bathroom and kitchen
To Get:
-khaki pants that fit
-white tank top (my current one has yellowy underarms because i've been wearing it to the gym)
-good comfy everyday sandals (because mine broke in atlanta)
-silver hoop earrings that dangle, like lauren's
-sneakers that fit
-new bras--at least one beige one
-an off-white dressy top (to wear with the flowered skirt i got on sale at kohl's a while back)
i've been meaning to say happy birthday to william butler yeats--he turned 138 on friday june 13.
