books 2009: Women/Teaching/Writing, edited by Jan Zlotnik Schmidt

This is an anthology of essays by women who are (predictably) writers and teachers, about their lives being all three of those things. I found this book because My Hero, Sondra Perl, has an essay in it (a really nice essay, honestly), but many of the essays in this book were really terrific. Some of the essays were more autobiographical, more creative nonfictiony, and some of them were more academic and scholarly, but all of them were valuable reading.
