(I was recommended this book by Sara Nelson's book, because Nelson loved it, and so when I saw a copy on sale somewhere about a zillion years ago I picked it up. So this is another entry in my "clearing off my To Read shelves" ongoing effort.)
This novel was terrific. Manning really captures this character, how she feels, how she thinks (or doesn't think). It was captivating and exquisite, a story of race and beauty and love and betrayal and recovering from violence. It floored me and I can't stop thinking about the ending. Highly recommended.
