I needed something that would be fun and immediately enthralling, so this is what I picked up. I got significantly less packing done today than I thought I would because of this book (but I tend to have superhuman expectations of my abilities to begin with, and I still got a lot done so it's okay).
Anyway, it was excellent on the reread as well (here is my original review, from a little over a year ago). The prose is a little thick, but Jake's voice is just so real and so entertaining that it's worth it. Although sometime I might like to try reading it like a normal person, on the train or something, and not just bingeing out, which is what I've done now both times I've read it. Anyway, recommended for McKinley fans, and dragon fans.
