going off the radar

Tonight after work F and I will be breaking down our computers to move them to our new place (TOMORROW! MOVING TOMORROW!). We haven't yet signed up for internets at the new place (I currently have Comcast, but we're considering Verizon since both our cell phones are currently Verizon, which would be fine except that F wants an iPhone, so it's up the air). So after today I will be out of internet contact until Monday, and then I'll only be online at work. I may try to make a phone post this weekend, though.

Phones aside, we switched to Verizon when we bought the house. We now have FiOS for internet and cable. For $100 a month (only $20 more than Comcast) we've got a better, faster internet connection and went from 20 channels to 200 or so.

Yeah, the thing that probably cheeses me the most about Comcast is the promotional rates. I can afford the promotional rate, but I can't afford the "standard" or whatever rate that they jack me to after 6 months. Does Verizon do that, do you know?

I couldn't afford $100 a month when I was living alone, so I milked the Comcast promos and got multiple extensions so I could afford it, and then dropped down to limited basic when they wouldn't extend me anymore. Now that we're two paychecks, though, $100 should be doable.

And my mom has FiOS and likes it.
