This was a thoroughly beautiful book. The relationship between Astrid and Veronika grew so nicely.
I had some confusion over Astrid's past history--didn't understand why certain things happened, and some things never got resolved--and also wanted more information at the end. But maybe that's just life? And the poignant stories both characters told made the book worthwhile. Veronika's tragedy in particular stuck out to me, maybe just because of where I am personally, and I'll remember it for a long time.
