This book was really annoying. Apparently Harris wrote a short story that takes place between books 5 and 6, and upon which hinges a good amount of book 6's plot. She published this story in an anthology somewhere. What she should have done was include the damn story as a bonus section of book 6. Because I spent the first half of the book going, "Hadley? What? Wait, we've met the queen before? Who?" and trying to figure out if I'd missed a book somewhere. Based on some of the goodreads reviews, I was not the only person with this problem. Come on, Harris, if you're going to write a short story set in a series world, you should write it as a one-off, something for the die-hard fans to track down, not a crucial element of your next book. I also can't believe her editor let her go through with this. So that really peeved me.
However, once I got over that, I really liked the book. I liked the witch, and I like Quinn. I was upset about what happened with Bill, but at least Harris has shown that he is definitely part of Sookie's past now, and not her future.
