Lands' End bright yellow rain slicker: purchased!
Lands' End yellow wellie rain boots: purchased!

My only worry is that the boots and the jacket aren't quite the same shade of yellow. Which, I mean, why do they do that? Kind of idiotic. But that's what it looks like: the jacket is clearly "aztec gold", while the boots are "goldenrod". It should be close enough, though. And the jacket is totally perfect, absolutely what I wanted, and the boots should be of better quality than my current pair. And F found a free shipping coupon code online! I'm psyched. Now I just need the umbrella. I found a nice rainbow Totes umbrella at JC Penney that was golf-sized, so really nice and big, for $25, but I think I'll shop around a bit.

Awesome! OMG I'm in love with the plaid one! Hee :) And yeah, that's pretty lame that the yellows may be different. It's the same freaking company!

What's "golf-sized"??

I think "golf-sized" just means "big". Usually they're the nice big umbrellas that can double as a walking stick when they're closed.

Golf sized does mean really big, although I have been told there are one even bigger.

The brighter yellow is the jacket with the wellies being very much in the same shade and just a tad different in tone. With the brighter shade on the top it will have a good balance. They will probably be really attractive together. You'll have the "traditional yellow slicker" look with your own dash of elegance.

Oh right, okay, yeah those are pretty big! I guess I always get the travel size umbrellas since I usually only use them when I'm traveling outside Colorado (as it doesn't rain enough here to warrant an actual umbrella). I'm in the market for one now, so I'm enjoying your Mission for Rain Attire! :)

I've always wanted one of these (I had one when I was a little kid and it was the coolest thing ever! LOL): Bubble Umbrella

That's really cute!

My dad says they're called "golf-sized" because they use them for shade on the golf course, and if it rains, they're big enough that you can stand under it with your clubs and they won't get wet. Interesting facts I didn't know!

I like the travel umbrellas too, but it would be so nice to have a good sturdy big one. Especially on days like Friday when my little travel one gets turned inside out!

I know! What good is a rain coat without a hood on it?! I feel the same way about trench coats. I have a cotton trench as my fall coat, and I like it, but any time it rains I growl at the coat and ask it why it doesn't have a freaking hood.
