Had dance class last night. We acquired two more people, so there are now six students. Everyone seems to be a stay-at-home mom (or maybe part-time-working mom) except for me and Susan, who is perhaps a stay-at-home grandma. I think this is a consequence of the place where I'm taking the dance classes--it's mostly a kid place. They have kid dance classes, kid yoga classes, kid spanish classes and cultural classes. So, when they do offer an adult class, who are the people most likely to find out about it? The moms who bring their kids there, or, alternatively, the chick who lives half a block away (that would be me). So it makes perfect sense. And in a few years I might BE these women. I am working on appreciating them and enjoying their company instead of focusing on the differences between us.

The dance class itself was fun. There was one step that I just could not get, and it seemed like everyone else had it down and was doing the arms and everything, and it was all I could do just to stomp rhythmically along with them. Otherwise, though, I was fine. We did almost everything from last week and then added some new things. I am enjoying the class.

This morning I did a little yoga (about 25 minutes), which is a good thing since I'm sure the stretching will help after last night's dance workout. It was just a small practice, but good to at least flow through the standing poses. I need to get a good hour of yoga in sometime soon, but it will probably not be this weekend, as someone will be sleeping in my yoga room. Two someones, in fact: a small female version of F, and her boyfriend who is often mistaken for a Steelers linebacker. Come to think of it, I hope he fits in the yoga room. It's pretty small.

I continue to enjoy the music of Krishna Das. This morning I listened to the album "Flow of Grace" (well, the first two songs of it, anyway) and found it meditative and very good for yoga. Also, I played his "Ring Song" for F, who correctly identified it as totally being Jimmy-Buffet-esque. F also answered the age-old questioned posed in the song: "Where did you get that ring?" "From Target, baby!"

I have now done some sort of aerobic physical activity every day for seven days in a row. Saturday, long walk with Mom and the dog; Sunday, an hour of yoga; Monday, an hour of yoga; Tuesday, 30 minutes of jogwalking; Wednesday, 25 minutes of yoga; Thursday, 1.5 hour dance class; Friday, 25 minutes of yoga. This is very exciting! I feel terrific, strong and flexible and healthy. I also look pretty great, or at least I feel like I do, which is just as important. Let's see if I can keep it up!
