In this book Mrs. Pollifax travels to Jordan, where she stops a planned assassination on the Jordanian king, helps nab a terrorist, and rescues a revolutionist Iraqi author who was presumed dead!
(This book really brings home that Mrs. Pollifax is a timeless character. In the first book, The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax, the action takes place in the mid-1970s, Mrs. Pollifax is in her mid-60s, and everyone's worried about Red China. In this book, the Gulf War is over, so Mrs. Pollifax has to be in her 90s, but there she is, scurrying about with the Bedouins!)
