Yoga # 1 for 2010
Monday January 4, early morning
30 minutes

I've decided to scrap the half-practice/whole-practice way of counting. It was too messy and annoying. I think instead I'm going to track how many times I practice yoga, with each practice counting fully whether I rolled around in my pajamas for 20 minutes or went to a 75-minute class at a studio. I will also track the total number of yoga minutes logged and just keep a running tally. I think that will be much more interesting, as well as easier to count up on a monthly basis. Also, reading yoga-related books will give me bonus points. Like a gold star or something.

Yesterday's yoga session was very nice. I did 15 squats and also did some chair pose, and today I could hardly walk. Yesterday it felt nice, though.

Over 90% of my yoga practices are just around 20 minutes. It's hard to find the time to do more but the way I figure it, any yoga is good for my health.

That's totally true! I've felt so much stronger and more fit since beginning my morning fitness program--I'm only doing maybe 25 minutes, but doing something almost every day really makes a difference!

Yoga #1, hurray!

I think it's great that you're going to count practices of any length. I get a lot of yoga whether it's 20 minutes or 90.

Exactly! Some of your comments over the past year helped me to rethink how I was counting my practices, so thank you for that. This way is more affirming, besides just being simpler!
